This red butter lettuce is one of a variety known as Salanova. It is a non-GMO, multi-leaf gourmet lettuce with a squat and compact head and small leaves, which are packed tightly around a small, cone-shaped core. Its leaves are tender yet sturdy enough to withstand loads of toppings.
With its vibrant leaves and mild, balanced flavor, this is probably one of our all-time favorite lettuces.

Priced per head. Additional details below.
Note: lettuce sizes and flavors change over the course of the year and with the seasons. The longer you eat with us, the more you will probably notice these fluctuations. We aim to price our lettuces in a way that reflects the average size we expect over the course of the year. However, some weeks (like this week!), the lettuces are notably smaller, and that is why our Red Butter are discounted this week.
We reserve the right to make substitutions if necessary but will make every effort to deliver what we have represented here. All images are taken of actual vegetables on our farm and are representative of what your vegetables may look like.
All of our lettuces, greens, and vegetables are delivered raw, unprocessed, and “ready to wash.” Even if they look clean, you should always carefully and thoroughly wash all of your salad greens and veggies before you eat them!
