Swiss Chard


This Swiss Chard has nutrient-dense, mild green leaves and colorful stems. Chard tastes sort of like spinach, but many folks say it’s a bit “earthier” (sort of like beet greens). Swiss Chard is a great addition to salads, and it has a very delicate flavor when cooked.  We usually eat it raw in salads or lightly steamed, but the leaves also make a delicious wrap (use in lieu of a tortilla for more nutrients and fewer processed carbs!)

When we cook it, we usually sauté the stems first until they are tender and then throw in the leaves last so that the leaves don’t overcook. (Especially delicious with some garlic, onions and ginger!)

Priced per bunch.  Each bunch will weigh approximately 8 oz.

Grown outside using sustainable CNG methods so it may have a little dirt or a few bug bites.  Nothing to fret about!

All of our lettuces, greens, and vegetables are delivered raw, unprocessed, and “ready to wash.” Even if they look clean, you should always carefully and thoroughly wash all of your salad greens and veggies before you eat them!
