If you’ve never had a heirloom tomato, you’re in for a treat! These thin-skinned, delicate, temperamental beauties cause us immeasurable anxiety all spring, but they are so worth it!
This week, you’ll see more varieties of tomatoes. We’re starting to harvest Cherokee Purples, Cherokee Greens, Berkely Tie-Dies, and several other delicious varieties that will complement the Brandywine, German Johnson, and Beefsteaks that you’ve received lately.
As the season moves forward, some of the heirlooms will be smaller and more round while others will remain uniquely shaped (as is typical for these varieties). We planned to offer flats temporarily (just until we found a smaller packaging solution), but, since some of y’all seem to love tomatoes as much as we do, we’ve decided to continue offering heirlooms by the flat this season.
If you really love tomatoes, this option is definitely the best “bang for your buck!”
Each flat will weigh approximately 10 pounds. It will contain mixed varieties (mostly reds and pinks), mixed sizes, and mixed ripeness levels. Because heirlooms don’t travel well when they are super-ripe, they may need a day or two sitting out in your kitchen before they are perfectly ripe. We recommend that you store your tomatoes at room temperature and do not refrigerate them.
We know heirlooms are a hassle, but if you love these perfectly imperfect fruits as much as we do, you know that they are worth it!

We reserve the right to make substitutions if necessary but will make every effort to deliver what we have represented here. All images are taken of actual vegetables on our farm and are representative of what your vegetables may look like; however, unless the images include a scale or other reference to weight, the images shown may not be representative of the quantity you will receive for the advertised weight.
All of our lettuces, greens, and vegetables are delivered raw, unprocessed, and “ready to wash.” Even if they look clean, you should always carefully and thoroughly wash all of your salad greens and veggies before you eat them!
